Retro Modern Orb Ruby 1960s Glass Ball Ashtray

Largest orb ashtray in the Viking Art Glass line - Circa late 1950s through 1960s. Shown in old Viking Art Glass catalogs as part no. 6827.

In near new condition with original Viking sticker. Appears unused. Tiny surface wear scratches on the base, barely visible, called ‘Bottom-wear’ and caused by time passing.

High modernist decor. Beautiful, rich ruby red glass. Scarce in this color and condition.

The orb measures 6” wide, 8” deep and 5” at tallest. Made of thick walled glass, weighs 4 lbs.

This ball ashtray has 3 rests, two for smaller size smokes and one large rest in the center for cigars.

Very hard to find, especially in ruby red. In excellent condition - like new. Only 1 available.

Big Art Glass Mushroom Ink Stain Spots

Hand-formed art glass mushroom weighs 3½ pounds.

Probably made in Scandinavia, ie. Sweden or Finland. Circa 1970s.

This huge glass mushroom sports green ‘ink spots’ accomplished by adding small amounts of colored molten glass before forming.

Measures 6” at widest, 4” tall, weighs a whopping 3½ lbs.

Archimede Seguso Turquoise and Gold Apple Bookend

Handmade 1950s art glass from Italy. The Seguso glass house made sets of bookends with apples and pears. This is the apple bookend only.

Three pounds of cased glass with intentional bubbles, gold aventurine and applied stem and leaf. The outer layer is colorless with the controlled bubbles and bits of gold foil on the leaf. The inner glass is turquoise, laden with gold specs. Beautiful effect.

The base is polished flat and one side is polished flat to sit against the books. The base has heavy bottom-wear from surface contact, this is expected. There is no damage or other signs of age. Perfect apple.

Measures 5” wide - 13½” diameter, 4.25” tall, weighs 3 lbs. Designed by Archimede Seguso, circa 1950s.

Fighting Cock Large Vintage Brass Figurine

This one big, bad, angry rooster.

Unmarked vintage brass, made in the 1940s. Scarce fighting cock figurine.

Large with great detail. Weighs 2 lbs. Measures 9” long, 7.5” wingspan, 5” tall.

In perfect condition. Light patina. Black accent was applied to provide depth.

Striking figurine must have for the rooster collector. Heavy and large, can be used to support books, etc. Real eye-catcher.

Set of Sears and Roebuck Mushroom canisters and napkin holder in like-new condition.

Everybody loved mushrooms in the 1970s. It’s not often that we find mushroom decor relics of the era in complete unused sets, especially in kitchen products. But this full set of four canisters, including a napkin holder, are scarce examples in pristine condition.

Marked on the base ‘Sears and Roebuck, 1978, Japan’. Are you old enough to remember those massive Sears Roebuck catalogs? They were like archaic low tech precursers to internet shopping where one could find absolutely anything. Kids would anxiously await the Fall issue to assemble their Christmas lists, moms would mail order fashion, textiles and kitchen supplies, Dads would look for the latest tools and electronics, and little boys would keep a copy under the bed to peruse the Lingerie section in privacy.

In the 1970s, U.S. manufacturing was steadily declining and we imported most of our products from Japan. These were made in Japan of white ceramic with handpainted decor and offered exclusively through Sears and Roebuck.

Crepuscolo is an Italian glass decor technique using steel or copper wool. ‘Crepuscolo’ means ‘dusk’ or ‘twilight’ in Italian. This glass decor was invented (or rediscovered) by Ercole Barovier (Italian glass master). In the Barovier examples we’ve seen, the metallic strands are more pronounced and ‘wirey’. The same technique was used with this pitcher.

Big, full-sized pitcher, weighs 5 lbs. Measures 10” tall and 9” at widest.

Very hard to find mugs in Carlo Moretti’s famous creamy cased glass.

Rarely seen mid-century beer mugs by Moretti, Italy, 1950s-1960s. Goblets and vases can be found, but the beer mugs are elusive.

Rare Early Blenko Art Glass rope twist candle holders from the 1940s.

Hand-made in Black Amethyst. Bewitching color looks black until light shines through.

Very hard to find. Designed by Bill Blenko Sr., himself, in the 1940s. Bill Blenko was among the few first glass designers that launched the studio glass movement of the mid-20th century.

Hefty, solid hand-made glass. Each holder weighs 1 lb. Designed for beauty and function. Large 4½” wide domed foot stabilizes the holders. Flat 4” wide collar catches the dripping wax. Wide 1” candle cup accomodates multiple candle sizes. Stunning beauty attracts attention. The perfect candlesticks.

In perfect condition with light bottom-wear (expected on antique and vintage glass). Nice tight rope twists. Stand 8.75” tall. Unique gift idea!

Antique Czech Crystal Medallion Perfume Bottle

Big crystal perfume bottle made in the early 20th Century in Czechoslovakia. Shown in Whitmyer’s Bedroom and Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years.

It measures 7.25” tall and weighs 1 lb. Made of heavy thick colorless lead crystal. Pressed in a 3-part mold.

The pattern is known as ‘Beaded Medallion’. The large oval medallion on the stopper works like a magnifying glass. The bottle has 6 panels, each with a protruding oval medallion. The base is trimmed with ‘cannon balls’.

Beautiful bottle with lots of sharp corners and edges. No chips. No discoloring. The bottle and stopper necks are ground to fit. At the end tip of the stopper’s ground insert, where it fits into the bottle’s neck, are very tiny chiggers which are common and can’t be seen unless looked for. The elaborate stopper has sharp bevelled scallop edges in perfect condition.

Stunning on your vanity…and very usable.

Beautiful set of antique blown colored crystal goblets for your Holiday table.

Quality hand blown colored crystal with evergreen seal.

All 6 footed tumblers in excellent condition with light bottom wear.

Large tall glasses, measure 7” tall, 3.25” wide mouth, weigh 3/4 lb each. Each tumbler varies slightly in measurements as they were made by hand.

Hand-blown with applied seal in the form of a sprig or tree. Solid weighted bases are applied. Polished rims. Quality crystal of medium weight.

Perhaps tall Mint Julip glassware? We believe this is Scandinavian glass or fine American glass (Steuben). Could be by Iittala (evergreen tree pattern called “Kuusi” matches the sprig on the seal) or could be from Plus Glasshytte or Boda Glass. Examples of sealed blown glass can also be found in references to Hoglund for Boda, Jacob E. or Michael Bang for Holmegaard, Orrefors, Kastrup, Riihimaki, Kuusi Iittala, and Steuben (American).

Circa late 1800s - 1940s. Scarce items. This is the only set like this we’ve seen.

The crystal is quality and the goblets are very well-made. No inclusions or errors. Rings like a bell.

Stunning retro orange hand-blown glass with hand-cut Battuto decor.

This vase is gorgeous. Tapering 14” tower of thick quality glass. Weighs 2 lbs. Hand-blown and cold cut.

Made with luminous bright carrot orange glass blown with colorless glass (sommerso). The glass is quality and heavy. The exterior was hand carved in wide horizontal cuts in the Battuto, Inciso or Martele fashion. Battuto (or Battuti) means “struck” in Italian. Martelé literally means “hammered” in French. The word in Italian is “martellato”.

Big bookends of reading mice with huge ears in solid brass.

They are in beautiful vintage condition with an all-over golden patina. Probably made of brass, may be made of finished bronze.

No damage. Estimated age 50 years +. Bases are covered with aged felt and the old “Made in Korea” sitcker is still attached. Each weighs 2.25 lbs and stands 7.75” tall.

Perfect for the library, garden room or kids room. Cute as can be. The prop up the books with their little butts.

Exceptional deep orange color with hints of yellow, called Tangerine. Applied handle is amber/yellow. Hand blown with pontil mark. In excellent condition.

This jug vase is larger than most window vases which were so popular in the mid 20th century. Glows beautifully when sunlight passes through.

Tall Dark Grape Amethyst Tower Vase in Crinkle Pattern

Vintage pattern glass vase stands 12” tall, weighs 2½ lbs. This is a heavy, thick-walled vase. Pattern looks like a combo of Morgantown’s Crinkle and Bryce’s El Rancho. Maker unknown.

Beautiful rich dark grape color. Circa 1960s/1970s. Hand finished rim, no visible seams. Sparkling clean, no damage.
