Stunning retro orange hand-blown glass with hand-cut Battuto decor.
This vase is gorgeous. Tapering 14” tower of thick quality glass. Weighs 2 lbs. Hand-blown and cold cut.
Made with luminous bright carrot orange glass blown with colorless glass (sommerso). The glass is quality and heavy. The exterior was hand carved in wide horizontal cuts in the Battuto, Inciso or Martele fashion. Battuto (or Battuti) means “struck” in Italian. Martelé literally means “hammered” in French. The word in Italian is “martellato”.
Vintage Glass Large Blown Bullet Vase Atomic Orange
Vintage intage orange-orange vase cased in white and colorless glass. Stands 18½” tall.
Commands attention. Will brighten any room. Makes the large lucite grape logs in image 2 below look small.
Made in Italy or Scandinavia, circa 1960 to 1970. Hand-blown. In image 5 below you can see the solid ring of bottom-wear encircling the base just above the half circle light reflection. The washed out section between the bottom-wear and the orange circle is a reflection.
Hand-made art glass vase designed by Hank Adams for Blenko in 1988.
Beautiful color is called ‘Dusty Rose’. The color lightens and darkens with the thickness of the glass. Original sticker still remains. Blenko made this vase only 2 years, 1988 - 1990.
Distinctive form was blown into mold, blown out to form and hand finished. As you can see in the images the wide neck is slightly slanted and the body shape is irregular. The horizontal tub ribs are deep and produce an optic effect.
